The Rev. Robert Loftberg joined Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida clergy in 2025 as a full-time priest with a special emphasis on youth ministry. He was ordained to the priesthood at Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford, CT, in January 2025.

Before ordination, Rob spent 14 years leading the New England boarding school ministry of FOCUS (Fellowship of Christians in Universities and Schools), where he established youth groups at independent boarding schools and led retreats and summer programs for students and faculty. He later served as Assistant Rector at St. James’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford, CT, and in parishes including St. Luke’s, Darien, CT, and St. Matthew’s, Bedford, NY.

Rob earned a B.A. from The George Washington University, an M.Div. from Yale Divinity School, and an S.T.M. from Yale. He and his wife, Nicole, have a college-aged son, Andrew. Together, they enjoy cooking, live music, movies, and a competitive game of backgammon. A lifelong Red Sox fan married to a Yankees loyalist, Rob embraces their “friendly rivalry.” Together, he and Nicole share a love of fine cheese and dream of one day opening a charming cheese shop.
