The Rev. Canon Arlette D. Benoit Joseph
The Rev. Canon Arlette D. Benoit Joseph is passionate about the spiritual and emotional wellness of clergy, as well as, the Christian and Spiritual Formation for all God’s people. She approaches her calling with a vibrancy and vitality that is evident in her messaging to Christians the world over.
She was appointed Canon for Transition in the Diocese of Pennsylvania in 2018. Supporting their 134 congregations with clergy recruitment, deployment, and the ordination process for those discerning a call to ministry.
Arlette began her career in the business world as a Marketing Analyst at UPS Mail Innovations in Atlanta GA where she managed Account Representatives and their Customer Care Department.
She graduated from The General Theological Seminary in New York City, earning a Master’s in Divinity and a certificate in Spiritual Direction. While at seminary she interned at St. Ann’s Church for the Deaf and Trinity Church, Wall Street as a seminarian and then Deacon. She was ordained to the priesthood in 2013 in the Diocese of Atlanta.
Arlette served as Associate Rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Atlanta GA prior to moving to the Diocese of Pennsylvania. During her tenure at St. Paul’s, her ministry expanded to serving and engaging the students of the Atlanta University Center as the Campus Missioner for Absalom Jones Center.
Arlette was born and raised in the beautiful twin-island Republic Trinidad and Tobago, home to the greatest Carnival in the world. Her hobbies include using her creative energies at household crafting, indoor cycling, trying new restaurants and outdoor activities with her two-year-old English Mastiff named Justice who loves water and will certainly enjoy the summer lifestyle on Smith Neck Road.
