The Rev. Kit Lonergan
The Rev. Kit Lonergan is delighted to be returning to St Aidan’s this coming Summer 2022. Ordained in 2009, Kit has served in a variety of ministry positions—as Director of Youth Ministries for the Diocese of Massachusetts, Head Chaplain at the Barbara C. Harris Camp, Assistant Rector at Christ Church in Andover, Chaplain at Esperanza Academy (Lawrence, MA), Rector at St. James’ Church in Groveland, Ma. She currently serves as the Priest for Welcome and Care at Trinity Church in Boston.
In her previous life she served as Assistant Chaplain, Sailing Coach and Religion Faculty at St George’s School (Newport, RI). She is an alumna of Tufts University (BA), Harvard Divinity School (MDiv) and the General Theological Seminary (Anglican Diploma).
Kit has a passion for inter-generational ministry, and is learning (not always successfully) what it means to cultivate authentic faith in families, and as busy adults in a complicated world. She writes regularly about some of these challenges at GrowChristians.org, reflects on smaller church ministry on the Small Churches, Big Impact Collaborative Podcast, and loves giving money away to expanding and grassroots youth organizations in eastern Massachusetts on behalf of the Church Home Society.
Her favorite moments these days find her dancing around her kitchen with her two children- Olivia, 8, and Jack, 6- to music, with something most likely burning on the stove. Kit’s better half is Chris Kowaleski, who is the Health and Wellness Coordinator for the Council on Aging in the City of Somerville, MA and a lover of all things which can be hammered or sawed. Together they live in Reading, MA with a rescue chocolate lab named Dosie, and a love for the Down syndrome community.
