The Rev. Noah Van Niel
This will be Rev. Noah Van Niel’s fifth summer at St. Aidan’s and he and his family can’t wait to be back! Noah recently began serving as the Priest-in-Charge at the parish of Christ and St. Luke’s in Norfolk, Virginia. He graduated from Harvard College where he played fullback on the Crimson’s Ivy League champion football team and received his Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School. Before answering his call to ordained ministry, he trained and worked as an opera singer in Philadelphia.
Previously he served as the Associate Rector at The Chapel of the Cross, in Chapel Hill, NC and at St. John the Evangelist in Hingham, MA. Noah has worked in various capacities at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Newton, MA (where he had been raised in the faith), St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Cambridge and Christ Church in the City of Boston (Old North). He also spent time on staff at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Philadelphia.
Writing is an important component of Noah’s ministry and his work has appeared in such publications as The New York Times, Boston Globe, Plough Quarterly, Mere Orthodoxy, and The Living Church. His articles, preaching and teaching can be found at www.thevicarsview.com.
Noah is married to Melinda who is an accomplished singer and works as a healthcare consultant. They have two sons, Vincent and Arthur, who look forward to their time in South Dartmouth all year round, especially their chance to go fishing!
