Consecration and Communion

The penultimate Sunday of the 2023 season was full of ceremony and heart as Rev. Canon Arlette Benoit Joseph presided over two communion services and the consecration of the newly expanded Memorial Garden. They were attended by parishioners who worshipped at two services held both inside and outside the Chapel.

Once again, Alan Lauderdale supplied musical accompaniment on his flute, enhancing the weekly services. The beloved Memorial Garden space, recently enlarged to accommodate the future, was blessed and consecrated by Rev. Arlette with poignant and simple prayers that captured the promise of life everlasting in Jesus’ comforting embrace.

The generosity of the Pozzo family was evident in the beauty of seasonal flower arrangements in the garden and Chapel.

Gratitude to Rev. Arlette for a very generous presence here for her third summer. During her stay, she led worship services that embraced the full range of St. Aidan’s pastoral responsibilities with grace, love, and faith. Thank you, Arlette, for your many spiritual gifts and for bringing your warmth and wisdom to us all. We wish you well in NYC in the year ahead and we’ll see you and sweet Justice next year, under the beech tree!
