The Rev. Canon Arlette Benoit Joseph completed her two-week chaplaincy on August 29. This was Arlette’s first experience at St. Aidan’s and the Clergy Welcome and Support Committee and others enjoyed introducing her (and her dog Justice) to the chapel, rectory, parish community, and the greater Dartmouth area. Late August was full of weather surprises including Tropical Storm Henri, a tempest that eventuated in a nimble worship schedule change, followed by a stifling heatwave. Arlette handled all of these challenges with grace, humor, and resilience.
Her ministry was busy and full, including the baptism of James Schmid on August 21, surrounded by family and friends. On August 29, Rev. Arlette led a heartfelt outdoor service that was attended by a robust congregation eager to contemplate her thoughts on the reading, Song of Solomon 2:8-13, from the First Book of Kings.
Thank you Arlette for your inspiring service to St. Aidan’s and we wish you well in the coming year. The Diocese of Philadelphia is blessed by your service as were we!
