The Blessing of the Pets!

The annual blessings of “all creatures bright and beautiful” charmed the faithful once again. About two dozen furry friends accompanied their owners to the 9:00 am service.

For the fifth time, The Rev. Kit Lonergan presided over the service which also included remembrances of beloved pets that had joined the heavenly ranks this past year. Rev. Kit invited the children to help her bestow the blessings and a joyful process unfolded under the beautiful beech tree. Organist Eric chose thoughtfully the music for the day, playing hymns and selections that featured animal themes.

Welcome back to Rev. Kit and her family, husband Chris, Jack and Livvy. Birthday greetings were also acknowledged for Listo Fisher, a long-time member of the congregation. Thank you Louise Macy for the gift of flowers and to the McNamara’s for providing animal crackers for the kids and treats for the dogs. It was a great day for the entire St. Aidan’s community!
