Under the Beech Tree on August 28
For ten weeks in a row, the weather was perfect as ushers and other volunteers prepared the chairs and altar, taking advantage of the shade beneath the beautiful beech tree. The Chapel grounds have provided the setting for our outdoor services all summer long and have proven to be a beautiful substitute for indoor worship activities. The Covid pandemic forced the change to outdoor worship for safety and health reasons, but the joyful spirit of the St. Aidan’s community prevailed nonetheless.
The Rt. Rev. Carol Gallagher presided over the well-attended communion service, her first Sunday of three. As the calendar turns to September, she will also serve St. Aidan’s on September 4 and September 11 as well. Welcome, Rev. Carol!
